[coronadrop #27 in a series of previously unreleased songs—released here daily—until the quarantine is over or i run out of decent unreleased songs]
YES! FINALLY! the penultimate day of my whimsically ill-considered “covers week”
no excuses needed for this one, written by the great songwriter Chris Staig, for whom the term “unsung” seems to have been coined. i put out his album “deeper we’ll dream” (from which this song cometh) on my then-toronto label Urban Myth and I’m hoping for points in the afterlife for doing that. it’s a great record. screw this nonsense and go stream it right now. the tee dot has slept on staig for too long, you should be ashamed of yourselves. go see him play, folks, seems like he's out playing somewhere every damn week. *rant over* he wouldn’t like me doing that anyhow.
originally recorded in 2003, this is one of the few “if i were you” masters that was salvageable enough to tart up and give a decent mix today, in 2020. moments ago, actually. so hooray for EXS24!
